England has included slow left-arm Linsey Smith in their 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies. The 24-year old is the only inclusion in the squad from the one that played West Indies in the recently-concluded one-dayers. Alex Hartley and Bryony Smith have been left out for the T20Is. The veteran duo of Katherine Brune and Natalie Sciver also return to the side after being rested.
Having registered a clean sweep in the one-dayers, England has now extended their unbeaten run across formats to 13 matches.
“It’s great to set records and break new ground, it’s something we talked about as a team when Robbo came in,” Heather Knight, England skipper said on Monday. “What’s great is that a winning run requires a lot of hard work and a lot of ruthlessness – it won’t continue if we become complacent or begin to let our own standards slip.
“We’ve got three games against the West Indies, and three chances to further improve our T20 form. If we can be at our best across these matches that will set us up well for the Ashes.”
Squad: Heather Knight, Tammy Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Jenny Gunn, Amy Jones, Laura Marsh, Anya Shrubsole, Linsey Smith, Sarah Taylor, Fran Wilson, Lauren Winfield, Danni Wyatt.
