The new, though not much improved, 7th gen iPod Touch is now available in Malaysia, starting at RM899.

Apple Premium Resellers Machines announced that the device – that’s not quite an iPhone, not yet an iPad – is available in 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB versions.

The 32GB model is priced at RM899 while the 128GB model is RM1,349 and the 256GB model is RM1,799. The iPods come in Pink, Gold, Blue, Silver, Space Grey, and Red.

According to Machine’s product listing, the iPod Touch is powered by the A10 Fusion chip, which is also used in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

The rest of the specs are similar to the 6th gen iPod Touch: a 4in retina display (326 ppi resolution), an 8-megapixel f/2.4 main camera and a 1.2-megapixel f/2.2 selfie camera, a home button with no Touch ID, lightning input and most importantly, a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The iPod Touch runs iOS 12 out the box but is expected to be able to upgrade to iOS 13 soon.

The device is also available on Apple Malaysia’s Online Store, hidden away under the Music product tab.
