Megan Thee Stallion shared a series of cryptic Instagram posts alluding to a new era of music just before announcing an indefinite hiatus… seems to me like she’s up to some hot girlish, so let’s get into it! Hot Girl Summer is undoubtedly upon us, but it seems Megan Thee Stallion has other plans this season, according to her latest social media posts.
It’s no question Megan has taken this year by storm, dropping her first studio album, starring in Calvin Klein campaigns, and taking home three Grammy awards… needless to say, all these accomplishments call for some much-needed time off.
But instead of casually sharing the news with fans of her plans to take a breather, Megan’s announcement was SO extra. You’d think she was dropping new music rather than disappearing off the grid. After updating her social accounts with a brand new photo, Megan took to Instagram on Thursday to share a series of similar footage in the form of futuristic transformer-inspired photos and videos.
Another clip showed Megan floating inside a glass cylinder, while the last post delivered a message to fans from a laptop, saying, “Megan Thee Stallion is recharging! Due to the demands of the Hot Girl lifestyle, it has now entered a period of regeneration to prepare for what’s next.” The message continued to explain that for the time being, Megan’s management team will manage all social posting “on behalf of “Thee Hot Girl Coach” and urged fans to anticipate the return of their Fearless Captain.
No further explanation was given as to what Megan is up to or when she’ll be back, except for a tweet she left around the same time as her Instagram posts went live that read, “I’ll be back when it’s time.” Although there’s no question Megan will come back with a vengeance, fans are praising her for putting herself first, especially after working tirelessly since her mother passed away in March of 2019. But due to the series of similar footage and change in her social media appearance, some fans wonder if new music is already on the way.
One user commented, “The profile picture has changed — this has to be big,” while another wrote, “SHE COMING I CAN’T BREATHE.” Whatever the case may be, this comment sent me as one fan hoped that whatever this is, it’s just NOT an ad for a makeup brand.
Pretty sure Meg wouldn’t be going through all this rebranding for a Revlon ad, especially because she hinted at her upcoming plans to E!’s Giuliana Rancic during the Grammy pre-show, “I really like to surprise the Hotties, so I will say y’all just better be ready for ‘Hot Girl Summer Part 2.’” Consider us warned!
And just because Megan’s first-ever Grammy Awards were one for the books last month, stay here for a full recap to her big night right. Then be sure to let us know all your thoughts on what Megan is up to right down here in the comments.
