Only several days ahead of May, Microsoft has released the final build for Windows 10 as part of its May 2021 updates. The Windows creator has verified that the build version 19043.928 for the 21H1 updates will be the final one available for direct download.
Microsoft said in a blog post:
“We are preparing the Windows 10 May 2021 Update (version 21H1) for release. We are continuing to improve the overall experience of the May 2021 Update on customers’ PCs through our usual servicing cadence.”
The new update is now available for Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview Channels. They can download the ISO files required for a clean install of the May 2021 Updates on their devices directly. This version is another trivial update released for those still running Windows 10 versions 2004 and 20H2.
People with Windows Insider can go through Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on “download and install 21H1” to get the latest update.
Once the update is finished, Windows Insiders will proceed to get service updates through Windows Update.
As the new update is already available to Insiders, it should not be long before it becomes publicly available. We can only expect that it will be more reliable than the problematical April updates, but that may be too far-fetched at this point.
