Apple isn’t backing down from its hybrid work model that may need most workers to come to the workplace 3 days per week, beginning in early September. Absolutely remote positions are very restricted.
“We believe that in-person collaboration is essential to our culture and our future,” said Deirdre O’Brien, senior VP of retail and people.
“If we take a moment to reflect on our unbelievable product launches this past year, the products and the launch execution were built upon the base of years of work that we did when we were all together in-person.”
The news comes nearly a month once Apple chief operating officer Tim Cook sent out an associate degree email telling workers the corporate was rolling out a replacement work model that might need them to come to in-office work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning within the fall.
In the wake of that announcement, Apple workers wrote a letter speech communication some workers had been forced to quit due to the policy and ask Cook to vary his stance. They asked that every one group run the choice to figure remotely, noting “without the inclusivity that flexibility brings, many of us feel we have to choose between either a combination of our families, our well-being, and being empowered to do our best work, or being a part of Apple.”
Now, Apple is denying that request, speech communication, any remote work choices are created “on a case-by-case basis with any new remote positions requiring executive approval.”
