Mark Cain, the husband of a GP, has been charged with her murder after her body was found at home.
The body of Hannah Cain, 45, who was known to her patients as Dr Hannah Terry, was found at a property in Fern Hill in Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday.
Mark Cain, 45, also of Fern Hill, was charged with her murder on Tuesday.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court in a black sweatshirt, where he confirmed his age, name and address. He was not asked to enter a plea and is due back in court on Thursday.

Prosecutor Jacqui Hanlon told the court that the ambulance service contacted the police at 02:25 BST on Sunday.
She said Hannah Cain was found in an upstairs bedroom not breathing and not conscious.
A post-mortem examination noted blunt force injury to the right side of her head had been inflicted, also an injury that could be suggestive of compression of the neck.
District judge Matthew Bone remanded the defendant in custody to appear at King’s Lynn Crown Court on Thursday.

In a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, Hannah Cain’s family described her as kind, generous and loving.
They said they were incredibly proud of the woman she was and of the great care she took of all her patients who knew her as Dr Terry.
The GP was listed as a member of the practice team at Grimston Medical Centre, which had closed on Monday and Tuesday following her death.
Dersingham is on the edge of the Royal Family’s estate of Sandringham in west Norfolk, while Grimston is to the south.

The Sun newspaper has reported that the GP served in a pool of doctors who were regularly on call for members of the Royal Family.
The medical centre reopened on Wednesday and said it would not be commenting on the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of their colleague, Dr Hannah Terry.
A statement issued by the NHS on behalf of the practice said it was deeply saddened by the tragic death of its much-loved and highly respected colleague, Dr Hannah Terry.
Hannah was an exceptional doctor and a deeply valued member of its NHS and primary care community.
Highly intelligent, kind and generous, she brought warmth and positivity to those around her.
