Abrar ul Haq, a well-known singer, has claimed Bollywood filmmaker and producer Karan Johar for taking his hit song “Nach Punjaban” without his permission.
Johar’s Dharma Productions dropped the movie, ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’ on Sunday and it has clearly plagiarised the singer’s iconic song ‘Nach Punjaban’.
“I have not sold my song Nach Punjaban to any Indian movie and reserve the right to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all,” Abrar ul Haq said.
‘Jugjugg Jeeyo,’ starring Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neeti Singh, and Manish Paul, is set to hit theatres on June 24.
On social media, there has been a lot of backlash for the flagrant duplication. The original ‘Nach Punjaban’ by Abrar-ul-Haq was released in 2002.
