Yemen's Houthis say they fired ballistic and cruise missiles and drones at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, killing 14 people and injuring more than 300, and warn airlines against using Saudi airports and airspace.

Two missile strikes on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh have killed 14 people and injured more than 300, according to BBC News, with the Houthis in Yemen stating they were behind the attack.

CCTV footage captured inside the Saudi capital’s international airport shows people taking cover as one of the missiles struck the building on Saturday, the BBC reported.

The group said it targeted the airport using a combination of ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones, and warned airlines and passengers against using Saudi Arabian airports and airspace.

Its military spokesman, Brig Gen Yahya Saree, said oil facilities and Dammam airport in eastern Saudi Arabia were also attacked.

He vowed that “escalating operations deep inside Saudi Arabia” would continue, and warned that all Saudi airports were possible targets, apart from those serving the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

According to the BBC, the strikes came after a series of other attacks earlier in the week.
