The Pakistan Cricket Board announced today that fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain’s bowling action was legal after the amount of elbow extension in the reassessment was within the 15-degree level of tolerance allowed under the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations.
As a result, he can now bowl in international cricket as well as all domestic cricket around the world.
Hasnain was suspended from bowling after tests on his bowling action were conducted on 21 January at the ICC’s accredited testing Centre in Lahore. His bowling action was found to be illegal in the test report, which was reviewed and verified by Cricket Australia’s independent expert.
Hasnain’s bowling action was reassessed on May 21 at the ICC’s accredited test center in Lahore, and the assessment was again verified by Cricket Australia’s experts, as required by ICC rules and regs.
During Cricket Australia’s domestic cricket competing in January, Hasnain was observed for a suspicious bowling action.
