The National Electricity Regulatory Authority on Friday increased electricity prices by 4.85 rupees per unit under monthly fuel adjustment.
The power tariff increased, and it was announced in the notification of monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for the month of February.
The power regulatory authority took the decision after hearing the plea by Central Power Purchasing Agency (CCPA).
The rate of tariff increase will be announced in the bills of April, it said. The increased charge on power tariffs is going to put an additional burden on consumers.
Energy consumers are exempted from the tariff hike, according to a notification released.
