MULTAN – Pakistan on Sunday clean sweeped the ODI series against West Indies 3-0 after a 53 run-victory (DLS method) in the 3rd ODI in Multan.

The West Indies team were dismissed for 216 while chasing a 270-point target.

Earlier, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan hit a career-best 86 to lift Pakistan to 269-9 in the third and final one-day international in Multan on Sunday, after unlikely West Indian hero Nicholas Pooran took four wickets.

Pooran bowled for the second time in his 43-match ODI career, taking 4-48 as Pakistan collapsed from 85 without loss to 117-5 after winning the toss and electing to bat.

The innings seemed to to be unravelling with Babar Azam’s rare failure for one, but Shadab used his bat to greatest results.

Shadab hit three sixes and four boundaries off 78 balls before being bowled in the final over during a 60-minute dust storm that reduced the match to 48 overs.

Pooran came up after Fakhar Zaman (35) and Imam-ul-Haq (62) gave Pakistan a solid start, sensing the Multan stadium pitch assisting spin.

Pooran took the wickets of Zaman, Haq, Mohammad Rizwan (11) and Mohammad Haris (nought) in just 25 balls, despite having never taken more than one wicket in his first-class career.

Earlier, a sandstorm delayed the third and final One-Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium.

After a dust storm engulfed the stadium, all players have been decided to leave. When the game was called off, the Men in Green were batting at 155-5 after 33 overs.

In the third and final one-day international on Sunday, the Green Shirts won the toss and chose to bat first against the West Indies.

The Babar-led team, which results the series 2-0, gave ODI debut to young pacer Shahnawaz Dahani, who replaced Haris Rauf.

The WI Team also made three changes, replacing Alzarri Joseph, Anderson Phillip, and Brandon King with Keacy Carty, Jayden Seales, and Keemo Paul.

Hosts are eyeing a whitewash of West Indies in the three-match ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series today.

The Green Shirts ended up taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with a 120-run victory in the second match on Friday.

Chasing 276, the visitors team were bowled out for 155 in 33 overs in Multan as Nawaz bowled brilliantly with his spin and finished with career-best ODI figures of 4-19. Mohammad Wasim also contributed, taking 3-34 on his return.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam (77) and opener Imam-ul-Haq (72) put on a formidable 120-run second-wicket stand to give the hosts a par score after opting to bat.'
