Due to political unrest in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to move the next ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies to Multan, according to sources.
After assessing the political scenario in the twin cities, the government advised PCB to move the series from Rawalpindi to Multan, according to PCB. The authorities have been notified of the change in location and advised to start preparing for the series in Multan.
The Punjab government has promised to provide foolproof security to both teams in Multan, and has discussed the security arrangements with the administration of both cricket boards.
The PCB has also informed the broadcasting team that the series would be played in Multan instead of Rawalpindi, and has directed them to report to the Multan Cricket Stadium by June 4th.
PAK vs WI ODI series will be Played in Multan
The three-match ODI series between the two countries was initially scheduled to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on June 8, 10, and 12. According to details, only the venue of the series has been revised and the schedule will remain the same.
It will be the first era since 2008 that Multan Cricket Stadium will welcome an international match. Multan Sultans play in front of an auctioned crowd at the stadium during the fifth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
