The Federal Government may increase the Petrol Prices in Pakistan by Rs. 27 per litre starting on April 16, 2022. Meanwhile, the Price of Diesel is expected to decrease by Rs. 35 per litre, according to sources. The final decision will be announced by the Finance Ministry after consultation with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
If the increase in approved, the new Petrol Prices in Pakistan will come into effect from 16 April 2022 and these will remain applicable until the end of the month. The increase will be a record breaking change for petrol in the history of Pakistan.
The Government has reduced petrol prices in Pakistan by Rs. 10 per litre following Imran Khan’s directives that prices will not be raised until the next fiscal budget is released.
The current price of petrol in Pakistan is 149.86 rupees per litre and the price of high-speed diesel is 144.15 rupees per litre. The price of diesel oil and light diesel oil (LDO) is 125.56 rupees per litre and 118.31 rupees per litre, respectively. The finance ministry has said that the government will have to bear an extra 33 billion rupees for 15 April until 1 May unless something changes

The Petrol Prices in Pakistan are expected to rise drastically as the Prime Minister Imran Khan has been overthrown by an anti-corruption vote, while most of the PTI members have resigned from their positions. The final decision about the petrol prices will now be made by the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Opposition-challenged government.
The price of crude oil on the international market has fallen below $100 per barrel. If you live here, though, you won’t notice much of a change as we usually import fuel.
