The Punjab government decided to give the salaries and pensions of serving and retired provincial government employees in advance for the month of June.
According to details, the provincial Ministry Of finance has decided to help employees and pensioners because there will be a bank holiday on July 1st, Friday, due to the start of the new fiscal year.
Following the bank holiday, there will be two weekly holidays on Saturday and Sunday. As a result, the Finance Ministry has directed all District Accounts Officers to ensure that the latest directive is followed.
In addition, the Finance Ministry has directed the Accountant General to ensure that employees and pensioners receive their salaries and pensions on June 30.
The Punjab government, will present the provincial budget for fiscal year 2022-23 on June 13. Baligh-ur-Rehman, the governor of Punjab, has already convened the provincial assembly.
Serving and retired provincial government employees are hoping that their salaries and pensions will be increased, as they are increasingly struggling to make ends meet.
