Shan Masood made another another record on Friday, becoming the first Pakistani batsman to score double centuries in two consecutive county championship innings.
Masood won the title after an outstanding performance while representing the county of Derbyshire. He made his first double huge amount against Sussex, scoring 239 runs, and he played a 219-run innings against Leicestershire on Friday.
Nawaz Iftikharuddin became the first Asian batsman to score back-to-back double century in county cricket. Prior to partition, he won the title in 1933, when he blasted 231 and 224 for Worcestershire.
Masood’s sensational batting has made him only the second Pakistani to set this first-class record. Arshad Parvez had previously created history by scoring 243 against Baluchistan and 236 against MCB in the BCCP Patron’s Trophy in 1978.
