Shah Masood, a left-handed opener in Pakistan, has made history by becoming the first Pakistani batter to score a double century in English County Championship. Masood achieved this feat while representing Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
The left-hander has been in superb touch as he displayed magnificent performances in the Pakistan Super League.
Masood is playing for his first time in the County Championship. He scored 91 and 62 in the first match, which is only his second game of the season.
Masood, who is currently the top-scorer in the County Championship this season, has scored 478 runs in 12 innings. He has scored runs at an average of 39.83.
Shan played his last Test match for Pakistan in Christchurch against New Zealand in 2020-21. He failed to deliver the performance that he wanted and was released from the Pakistani domestic circuit.
Pakistan’s opening batter was added to the national squad for the Test leg of the series against Australia. However, Imam-ul-Haq played brilliantly throughout the series.
Several Pakistani players are playing in the County Championship this summer, and are looking in superb form.
