Mahmood orders urgent review of state protection after Ann Widdecombe killing
Home secretary Shabana Mahmood has ordered an urgent independent review of the protective security the state provides to people in public life, and expanded police support with immediate effect to political figures who are not MPs, after the killing of Ann Widdecombe.
