Prime Minister Imran Khan has come in to save Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, his nominee for Chief Minister of Punjab.
Dawn newspaper report that, it is learned that the federal government has appointed Tahir Khursheed, former principal secretary to the Punjab chief minister, acting as acting secretary of national food security and research division, as chief secretary, and CCPO Fayyaz Dev of Lahore. Has decided to appoint IG Punjab, awaiting notification in this regard.
Sources told Dawn that both Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal and IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan were summoned by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Talking to PML-Q leaders, the chief minister insisted that they should catch the deviant MPA of PTI and ensure that they do not vote for the opposition’s chief ministerial candidate.
The chief secretary and the IG Punjab are said to have refused to take part in the illegal activities and the PML-Q leaders demanded that the two be replaced. Prime Minister Imran Khan during a Dobdo meeting at Governor House Lahore a few days ago had assured Pervez Elahi of all possible help before the election of the Chief Minister.
Right after, PML-Q leader Monis Elahi tweeted that Khawaja Asif had admitted that there were deviant PTI members in the provincial parliament who would vote against his party’s instructions.
