Kelly Clarkson, the singer and talk show host, revealed her weight loss secrets exclusively to People, sharing insights into her diet and exercise routines.

The 41-year-old celebrity, now based in New York City with “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” emphasized her focus on overall wellness. “Walking in the city is quite the workout. I’m really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down,” she shared.

When it comes to her diet, Clarkson takes a balanced approach. “I eat a healthy mix,” she explained. “I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — for a couple of years I didn’t. And 90% of the time I’m good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway.

Being a Texan, Clarkson humorously apologized to vegetarians, stating her love for meat. However, she doesn’t shy away from occasional indulgences. “But I still splurge. The other night I had a frozen yogurt with my daughter, and it was magical,” she admitted.

Clarkson, a Grammy winner and mother of two, has previously addressed weight loss connected to thyroid and autoimmune issues. In 2018, she shared with TODAY’s Hoda Kotb how changing her diet to address these issues resulted in a 37-pound weight loss.

While the industry often focuses on the visible change, Clarkson emphasized that for her, it wasn’t just about shedding pounds. Her journey reflects a commitment to holistic well-being and managing health challenges.
