“I feel like I’m in a game of f***ing werewolf or mafia where I’m like I’m not the werewolf.”
Andrew Garfield finally broke his silence on those rumors about his return to the Spiderman films, and fans might be surprised to hear what he had to say. Let’s get into it!
If you’ve been keeping up with the Spiderman rumors, you’ve likely heard the speculation about Andrew Garfield joining Tom Holland in the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ film.
Andrew played Peter Parker in 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” and the 2014 sequel “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” when the character was still owned solely by Sony. But since Spiderman became a part of the Marvel Universe, Tom Holland has played the iconic role.
And diehard Marvel fans know that Doctor Strange will be involved in the third Spidey movie, so it’s long been speculated that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will explore the multiverse concept. The Marvel Cinematic Universe teased the existence of a multiverse in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
Additionally, the upcoming Loki series is set to explore alternative timelines. So all this could mean multiple Spider-Men could appear alongside Tom Holland.
When thinking about that concept, all I can think of is this meme with Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Macguire all playing Spiderman alongside one another. Anyone else?! And to add fuel to the rumor fire, Alfred Molina is returning as Doctor Octopus, a character he last played in 2004 during Tobey Macguire’s reign as Spiderman. And Jamie Foxx has also teased the reprisal of his role as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man.
Unfortunately, though, Andrew just put all the multiple Spider-men rumors to rest in a new interview with Josh Horowitz on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast. When Josh started to ask Andrew about his potential involvement in the film, Andrew jumped in to clear the air. “I have to just quickly cut you off, there’s nothing to ruin. Really? Like it’s so crazy to me. It’s just gotten out of hand it’s all bull****? Dude it’s f***ing hilarious to me.”
Andrew said he’d seen all the rumors and theories on Twitter, and he’s wanted to address everyone who’s been freaking out. “I can’t speak for anything else but for myself. Like they might be doing something but like I ain’t got a call.”
And Andrew gave a hilarious analogy to a childhood game to reveal how all these rumors have been making him feel. “You know that game and I think it’s kind of similar where you’re convincing everyone that you’re not in the mafia? Like I feel like I’m in a game of f***ing werewolf where I’m like I’m not the werewolf.”
And while Andrew denied his current involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he didn’t rule out making a cameo if he were to get a call. “I would’ve gotten a call by now, that’s all I’ll say. Like I don’t wanna rule anything out, maybe they wanna call me and say hey people want this.” The movie is set to be released in December of this year, so it would have to be soon if it were to happen.
We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything else about these rumors and if we found out whether or not Andrew is telling the truth.
