Google recently launched its Smart Canvas innovative technology at I/O 2021, which aims to improve the interoperability of different business tools. Since the ongoing isolation forces people to browse the Internet as much as possible, Google focused on Google Meet to improve its functionality. Using Google Meet, organizers can now view slides, tables, and documents between meetings.

Now, meeting organizers no longer need to share document files separately, but can directly present files and other materials to attendees. In Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets, you will see the “Participate in Meeting” option at the top of “Documents, Slides, or Sheets”. This feature requires a code that you can enter at the beginning of each meeting, or you can set a default code that is automatically activated.

In the second case, options such as “show tab in meeting” are provided. This option allows users to select other tabs or view the meeting in full-screen mode. According to Google, anyone can give a presentation in the middle of a Google web meeting without interrupting the entire conversation. Files, documents, slides, worksheets, etc. can be presented directly in the meeting.

You can share all content without affecting the meeting process and the attention of the entire team. Google is preparing to integrate Google Meet in the next few months. Now users don’t have to worry about closing and opening calls when switching files and tabs. All these applications can be easily accessed between calls. You can join the meeting without leaving the current application. The configuration displayed in the sidebar of the meeting is automatically obtained.

Workspace members develop strategies for the entire feature including Gmail participation. Many Smart Canvas features have been updated to take your work game to a whole new level. The update to add @mention shows a list of preferred people, files, and appointments, as well as contact details, job descriptions, and locations. This allows you to access the document without leaving the current tab.
