The survey shows that most users are unwilling to share personal information

As the Internet continues to be intertwined with almost everything that people need to do in their daily lives, the debate about how to use the different types of data that these users can ultimately generate has begun. A big question is which companies will eventually receive their data, what data they will receive, and how they will use it.

Serious doubts about the vast majority of users using their data on the Internet. The survey asked 1,247 questions, and eight out of ten respondents (82% to be precise) said they support the concept of supervision and enforcement, which reduces the amount of data that any large company can collect from outside and strictly limits it.

68% of respondents said that their online privacy is very important to them, and 76% of respondents said they really don’t like the idea that some type of advertisement might be displayed as a result. A positioning tailored to their specific preferences based on the data the company can obtain from them. Similarly, there is gender inequality because women are often unwilling to get targeted advertising because 11% of women said they want to target advertising first.

The breakdown of data by age group shows that the age group between 41 and 54 is the most suspicious, with 88% of people between these two age groups saying that they have personal information. Protection is their top priority. People under the age of 18 are relatively less skeptical, with only 68% saying this is their priority.

However, the fact that respondents under the age of 18 are underage may make their preferences less credible, because as these respondents realize the impact of using their data, their preferences will eventually change. The proportion of respondents aged 18-40 and over 55 who have the same fear is 71%. This is a strong sign that online privacy has become the main concern of the vast majority of online users with various demographic and gender inequalities, although there are some differences in disrespect of data.

Regarding the specific aspects of the types of respondents participating in this survey, it should be noted that no matter what type of identifier they are associated with, this is still a problem to a large extent. It is related to the responses received from people of different genders who consider themselves non-binary. The non-binary respondents in this survey tend to be divided into two halves, which is different from respondents of gender origin.
