The Twitter engineering team seems to be developing a new reply later feature for the platform that will allow users to more effectively categorize direct messages. Twitter seems to be leaning slightly towards the direction of direct messaging (also known as DM). And sharing them has become an indispensable part of almost any online experience.

Platforms such as Twitter and Instagram did not initially put too much effort into this mix but instead delegated the task to more “chat-friendly” platforms such as Facebook. DM culture is part of today’s young lifestyle, and not working on improving messaging would be a bad business decision. Therefore, the aforementioned platforms are all operating. Adding a fade mode to Instagram is particularly interesting, it allows users to chat with each other and delete all posts at the end.

Although Twitter has a good opportunity to adjust the new chat function through the Blue Premium subscription, none of this happened. However, the form of “reply later” received by the public will not be so bad. At first glance, the reply later function appears to be a sub-menu where users can save messages they want to access later.

This is a great way to remember who to respond to throughout the day. Anything other than being busy and forgetting who to send the message without replying to someone’s message can be very annoying. So far, Twitter’s own developers have not dealt with this feature. The ability to reply later is likely to be much more important than a simple screenshot implies.

In addition, Twitter can also conduct beta testing or A/B testing of this feature, which means there is more to know. Twitter is known for testing features for months without clear results. The most famous examples are the Narrowing Conversations and Streaming Responses platforms, which have been running for more than a year, but unfortunately, the entire project was abandoned.
