A map on the Twitter racing page showing the occupied Jammu and Kashmir region and the Buddhist enclave Ladakh outside of India sparked outrage on social media this week because of the company’s policy agreement between Twitter and New Delhi. The regulatory relationship is tense.

With India’s new information technology. The complaint alleges that Manish Maheshwari, the head of Twitter India, and another head of the company violated the country’s IT regulations and laws designed to prevent class hostility and hatred. “It hurts me and the people of India,” Praveen Bhati Maheshwari, leader of the Bajrang Dal organization in Uttar Pradesh, said in a complaint inspected by Reuters.

As of Tuesday, the card is no longer visible on his website. This month, Uttar Pradesh police quoted him as saying that he failed to broadcast a video suspected of inciting religious disputes. In this case, Maheshwari was protected by law.

Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad criticized Twitter for not complying with India’s new regulations and denied access to his Twitter account. In order to comply with the regulations that went into effect in May, companies such as Twitter must appoint a chief compliance officer, a complaints officer, and another senior executive to liaise with the police and the government for legal investigations.

A senior government official previously told Reuters that due to its violations, Twitter no longer has the right to seek a disclaimer as an intermediary or host of Indian user-generated content. However, activists said that this is a matter for the court.

The company stated on social media that last year after map data showed that the territory occupied by India was part of China, the head of the Indian parliamentary group accused Twitter of ignoring New Delhi’s sovereignty.
