Google Chrome is testing a new search widget for the Android home screen, with different tiles in the search bar

Google has been tinkering with features to make the user experience easier, and we stumbled upon the last one. Chrome is now displayed as a widget on the home screen, and certain tiles are now displayed in the search bar. Based on your recent searches, you can see different areas of interest below.

Although this widget is not fully functional yet, we have to admit that it has shown encouraging results. Since Google has not officially commented on Chrome’s new update, we don’t know when the widget will be ready and when it will be available. At this point, we know how it will appear on the main screen.

Requires Chrome Canary version. for this. After installing the Canary browser on your Android device, go to chrome: // flags / # enablequickactionsearchwidgetandroid, enable this flag and restart the browser. Finally, you need to quickly access the Widgets section to enable new features.

Of course, this update only applies to Android, not iOS yet. In addition, this feature is not yet “working” and is still under development. If you leave the widget on your home screen long enough, you will see Google tiles soon. Chrome workers are in action, which makes the widgets available for testing.

The widget also displays search tiles in your account. On the home screen directly below the search bar, the area of interest will be highlighted and displayed as a tile. One feature is the ability to synchronize across multiple devices.

This of course allows you to have more choices on the comfortable home screen! Google has not added new widget updates for mobile users for a long time. The last update was to update the widget to better respond to the way users want. However, this is a desktop-specific update. It’s great to see that Chrome finally offers a way to please mobile users.
