Windows 11 will come out on October 5 ; Microsoft

Microsoft declared the date of the Windows 11 release, which is October 5th. The new operating system will be available as a free update for Windows 10 PCs that meet the requirements or on new Windows 11 PCs on October 5, but like many previous Windows updates, it will be available in stages.

New eligible devices will receive the update first, and then Windows 11 will be available on the market in the weeks after October 5th. “Following the tremendous learnings from Windows 10, we want to make sure we’re providing you with the best possible experience,” Aaron Woodman, general manager of Windows marketing said. “We expect all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.”

The PCs with Windows 10 installed will get notified when the updated Windows 11 is available. In addition, you can check if a device is compatible with Windows 11 updates through the Windows Verification app or Microsoft’s dedicated PC health app. Although Windows 11 will come out on October 5, not all of the mentioned features will be available.

Microsoft is partnering with Amazon and Intel for Android apps for Windows 11, but the feature won’t be available on October 5. Android apps on Windows 11 will be available to Windows Insiders in the coming months, which hints this probably won’t be released to Windows 11 users before 2022.

Last week Microsoft announced the minimum system requirements for Windows 11 but also provided a solution for those that don’t meet them: you can install Windows 11 on any hardware, Using the ISO method when 64-bit is installed on the PC. 1GHz bit processor with two or more cores, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of memory, and a TPM 1.2 chip.

However, if you use hacks like this, your computer will end up in an unsupported state. This means computers with unsupported Windows 11 may not have access to Windows Update or even security fixes. If your computer is not eligible for Windows 11, Microsoft will not stop to support and release updates to Windows 10 until October 14, 2025.
