The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merchandise leak appears to have revealed a Namor Black Panther 2 First Look, played by Tenoch Huerta.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is growing at a breakneck pace. Even as Marvel prepares to release Thor: Love & Thunder, the studio is preparing to launch promotion for the next film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The sequel will investigate the fate of Wakanda and pass on the mantle of the Black Panther.
Namor Black Panther 2 First Look
Marvel has yet to confirm any information about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Nonetheless, there have been consistent reports that Namor the Sub-Mariner and his Atlanteans, some of Marvel’s oldest heroes, will make their MCU debut.
Tenoch Huerta is thought to be the King of Atlantis, and his underwater kingdom is said to have been relocated to offshore South America. This is presumably to differentiate Marvel’s Atlantis from the one seen in DC’s Aquaman film.
Leaked merchandise appears to provide the first look at the MCU’s Sub-Mariner. MCU Facility has been sharing a number of leaked images over the last 24 hours, the most recent of which depicts Huerta’s Namor.
The design is a riff on the traditional Sub-Mariner swimming trunk look, as opposed to more modern interpretations that include full swimsuits or combat armour. It is adorned with gold decorations that are clearly inspired by Mayan designs.
Marvel’s Phase 4 is impressively comic-book accurate, especially in terms of visual style. This demonstrates Marvel Studios’ growing confidence in staying true to the source material, and Namor’s design continues the trend.
However, the adaptation is particularly intriguing because it incorporates the long-rumored Mayan designs, implying that the Atlanteans have been reinvented and relocated to offshore South America. Namor is represented in the MCU as an imposing figure, a true warrior who does not require armour.
It’s important to note that Namor lacks the Atlanteans’ distinctive blue skin. Other product leaks have revealed these blue-skinned Atlanteans, with some even wearing breathing apparatus to deal with air.
If this leaked merchandise illustrates the MCU’s Namor, the design is remarkably comic-book accurate, implying that his origin was also lifted directly from the comics. Namor is a human-Atlantean hybrid, which explains why he doesn’t require the breathing apparatus and doesn’t have blue skin.
The important question to ask is whether Marvel will adapt the entire story, because Namor’s abilities are derived from the X-gene traditionally associated with the X-Men. Because Marvel now owns the X-Men film rights, Namor’s appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could serve as a backdoor introduction to the entire mutant race.
