Despite protests by former Speaker and Punjab CM candidate Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi against police entry into the parliament, the law enforcement agency detained three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPs and illegally mistreated many others.
Pervaiz Elahi was afterwards attacked, and he claimed the incident was a “assassination attempt” because the attackers said “Maar Do” (kill him) as they hit him.

It’s worth noting that the PTI members attacked Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari earlier in the day after hurling ‘LOTAS’ at him. The Punjab Assembly has been in disorder all day and has been unable to complete its work.
