Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that it will operate direct flights from Karachi to Damascus, in order to provide support to pilgrims.
The first flight of PIA will depart Damascus from Karachi on May 28.
An official statement was posted indicating that minister Saad Rafique made the final decision in accordance with directives of the Minister of State for Aviation.
“Our aim is to provide better and more comfortable travel facilities to pilgrims and other passengers,” Rafique said. He said PIA was developing rapidly and would be adding a new aircraft to its fleet in the near future..
The prime minister appealed to the pilgrims visiting Damascus to pray for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
