WhatsApp will Stop Working on Older iPhones

whatsapp will stop working on older iphones

WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to the chatting app almost every month. This month, users got message reactions and much more, but now we have a bit of news those who are still using older iPhones.

A upcoming WhatsApp update is going to have to drop support for Apple’s iOS 10 and 11. This means that the existing iphone models which are still functioning on iOS 10 or older versions will no longer support WhatsApp updated information.

The app may well not work correctly on these system software builds and WhatsApp is trying to encourage iPhone users to download the recent update available.

WhatsApp will stop supporting this version of iOS after 24 Oct 2022. Please go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update to get the latest iOS version.

Because these devices are still running iOS 10 and 11, the iPhone 5 and 5c will no longer be supported after the upcoming WhatsApp update. If you have a newer iPhone, such as the iPhone 6 or higher, you may simply update your phone to a newer version simply going into the settings.

To be supported by WhatsApp on Android, the smartphone must be running Android 4.1 or above. With the release of iOS 16, Apple is expected to end support for the iPhone 6 series as well as the original iPhone SE.
