Who is Lt. Col Asim as a Imran Khan Security officer?


PTI on Tuesday appointed a previous SSG commando as the chief security officer of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf political party’s chairman Imran Khan.

The government issued the PTI’s request to appoint a skilled individual after Imran Khan said his life was in danger and a following communication meeting took place on his security details.

“Lt Col (retd) Asim has been appointed as security in-charge of chairman Imran Khan,” the PTI said on Twitter.

During the Sialkot rally, PTI chairman Imran Khan had said that a “conspiracy was being hatched to take his life,” and a video was released recording the names of those responsible.

After this, Prime Minister Imran Khan held a meeting with his top subordinates to review security at the former prime minister’s residence and during political rallies.

The prime minister has held two meetings with authorities from the interior ministry to complete the protection of the former prime minister.

Imran Khan ‘s home in Bani Gala will be surrounded by over 94 security personnel, as per a press release by the Interior Ministry . Of which, 22 men will be from the Islamabad police and 72 from the Frontier Constabulary.

In addition, 26 members of the security service and nine military personnel will also be provided.

PM Imran Khan has also directed provincial governments to make sure PM Shehbaz Sharif has adequate security even when he is holding political rallies across the country.
